Thematic Standings: Ruy Lopez: Closed
Posted on 6th Jan 08 by DoubleletterThanks to maeck who came up with the idea for a thematic tourney. Having never seriously played the Ruy Lopez before, this thematic helped me a lot. Now if only I can remember all this theory …
We will have our next thematic after the upcoming T35 Team League tournament.
| Player | Won | Lost | Drawn | Points |
| Doubleletter | 2 | 1 | 3 | 3.5 |
| purplepawns | 2 | 1 | 3 | 3.5 |
| smallblackcat | 1 | 0 | 5 | 3.5 |
| maeck | 0 | 3 | 3 | 1.5 |
Oh, and there’s no winner as such - we have 3 players tied for first. Next time, we will have proper tie-breaks and a timeline for finishing games.

It’s sorted by points, and then, alphabetically, by nickname

Sure Kiran … I think we can work something out. Next thematic will probably be after T35.

The normal tiebreaker for round robin tournaments are Sonneborn-Berger points, i.e. you get the points of the people that you won against, half of their points if you drew them, and zero if you lost to them. I am too lazy to do this for our tournament, tho

How would the Sonneborn-Berger system apply to a double round-robin? For example, would you take the points of a player against whom you scored 1.5/2, half the points of those you scored 1/2 against? Incidentally, if that system were applied to this tournament, it would still result in a three-way tie for first!

i think in these circumstances the winner should b sorted alphabetically………by real life name :), which means theres only 1 winner
